2009-10 Budget Development Information about the development of the 2009-10 budget will be posted regularly after Board of Education presentations and as details unfold at the state and/or local level. You’ll find the link to the budget page in the list on the left. 09-10 Budget Development Although the community does not vote on the school budget until May 19, the development of the 2009-10 budget is a year-round process that becomes more active in the six months prior to the vote. Budget presentations and discussions are scheduled for Board of Education meetings, which are broadcast on local cable television (FACT-12). Because the Board and Superintendent of Schools value input from the community, residents are encouraged to submit comments/suggestions about the 2009-10 budget by filling out the form below. Edward Hensel Appointed to Fill Board Vacancy At its November meeting, the Board of Education voted unanimously to appoint Edward Hensel to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Matthew J. DiRisio due to health reasons. Dr. Hensel, who ran for the Board last spring, will serve until May 19. In May, he has the option of running for the Board. Three positions will be voted on then; the two receiving the highest votes will fill 3-year terms and the third highest will fill the 2-year term. An eight-year resident of the district, he and his wife have four children. Two have graduated from Fairport High School, and two are currently attending Fairport schools. Dr. Hensel is a professor of mechanical engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. from New Mexico State University and his bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University.
